Face to Face Pan Mee

Last month as I was really stressed out for exam,my mom came home one day and dragged me to try a new pan mee shop at Bangsar going for a ridiculously low price of RM2 per bowl.

Turns out its an introductory price only for that day.The day before,it was going for Rm1 per bowl!

Eversince then,I have been there pretty often. It is not hard to spot for the green shop as it is the same row as Pizza Hut at Lucky Gardens. The shop is air conditioned which is a plus given the humid weather. The place is always somewhat full, but not full to the extend it is hot and stuffy, its just nice.

I got all excited when I saw they serve Dried Chilli Pan Mee, which I always craved for since the original chilli pan mee is located miles away from home.

The best thing about the pan mee ?

Yes the chilli! They serve 5 different kinds of chilli and this is just one of them. Crunchy but not too spicy.

They serve many kinds of pan mee and you can even choose the type of noodles .Here below is the Dry Curry Chicken pan mee which was soso.

This is the normal pan mee we usually get from other shops  with the exception of runny egg yolk.

I have also tried the dried chilli pan mee and sarawak noodles. Both were satisfactory. For the dried chilli pan mee,the best thing about it is the crunchy anchovies and the runny egg and  as well the chilli.I wish they added more minced meat though.

The sarawak noodles on the other hand has not much dressing ,just a few piece of pork. But it was alright.

Nasi lemak is also served,i cant wait to try!

In a nut shell, the best thing about here is free wifi,a satisfactory meal below the price of RM10,and the dessert!
Most places I go,this will be super sweet. But here,it is just nice and loaded with ingredients like wintermelon and sea coconut .For a price of rm4.90(i think),what more can i ask for? They serve other desserts too like abc,ice cendol and etc

I still like my mom's pan mee the best and still prefer the  normal dried pan mee at SinLaiPing Restaurant at Lucky Garden. It is really good but only opens in the morning.

I personally feel that the normal pan mee at Sin Lai Ping taste better than the one at Chun Heong coffee shop.

But if you are looking for a taste of dried chilli pan mee, this is the place to go.Go chilli crazy!!:D

Places to Hang out and Makan in Bangsar .

I have not updated in a while since I do not have the camera with me,but in between all these weeks or months,so many cafes have popped up in Bangsar Baru.Good news for me because then I do not have to travel so far for a good cuppa coffee or cake.:D

Sadly,I do not have pictures of these places which I have visited. Can a review be done without pictures ar?Can lar right;)

I will just make this short and quick la.

1.wonder mama ,bangsar village 1
One of my new favourite place would be Wonder Mama at Bangsar Village 1.
It is not that new actually as compared to other cafes.
The nasi lemak there is heavenly.I love the way the chicken is fried, making ot all crunchy and juicy.( the fattening part is nice la) and the smelly beans(petai) and sotong that comes with it is not spicy. I cant take spicy so yays!! ( Price is around RM20 for nasi lemak)

The beef nachos with cilli padi is satisfactory. Not spicy at all. Hot chocolate is not my cuppa tea , neither is the red velvet cake.I personally am not crazy over red velvet.

Texture of black sesame drink is not thick enough,I think the way black seaame should be ia like KTZ,SS2's.

Ceaser salad is serve with their signature fried chicken and anchovies.yums!

Discounts on desserts and drinks during tea time :D

2.Sarpinos Pizza
This pizza place has actually been in Bangsar for quite some time but they shifted to where the Ipoh chicken rice shop used to be ,in between a beauty saloon and a laundry shop.Same row as Mahbub.(love the roticanai!!)

Buy 1 free 1 if you take away and for orders above rm25,there will be free delivery.

Greek Pizza is delicious (vegetarian)

Mushroom soup is nothong special, but they have one of the best ceaser salad in town! its so good and only at a price of RM7 I think.Dont expect chickens and all inside, its just your plain old ceaser.

Oh and most importantly , they have cheese powder too! *wink wink*

3.Coffea Coffee,Telawi street
Been there once,a nice spot to hang out, friendly people, friends love the place.I love the place.
Did not really enjoy my peanutbutter latte, for me,it is too sweet. My friends seems to enjoy their drinks though.Tiramisu is goood!

4.Milk and Butter( beside Devi's corner)
Price is surprisingly affordable , I was expecting somewhere between rm30+ for a place like that.
Good ambience, mushroom soup was as good as marche's(my favourite) I always try to order mushroom soup wherever i go ,and so far Marche , Delicious and Milk and Butter serves the best)
Dessert was pricy and only satisfactory.
Ceaser salad is nothing great.

5.Dip n Dip
I never understand why this place is always pack,it is a chocolate and coffee cafe at Telawi street.I actually had to que for a table there.

I love chocolate, especially white chocolate and recently i fell in love with the bitter sweet taste of dark chocolates.I ordered something pizza which have fruit toppings on top and of course with chocolate. The base is something like a brownie cake.

I do not know why it didnt taste as good as i thought it would be .The brownie cake was a bit dry. It was okay, but i honestly think this place is overrated,i am not claiming that it is bad neither am i saying it is to die for.I am sorry to all dip n dip fans out there.:(

Maybe I was just bloated from dinner. I noticed many people ordered the crepes which at least look tempting to me.I wouldnt say it is a good place to hang out for long hours though. It is just too crowded, unless you like being in crowded places.

6.Ted Boy's bakery
One of the best bakery ever!love the breads, love the environment(There are a few ipads hanging on the wall waiting for you to pick up to use) free wifi, great service.love love love this place. A bit pricey for bread though.

7.Yeast
French waiters!!yes,it is a little French cafe at Telawi street same row as KK Mart. I forgot what i had there, some bread and latte i think. It was alright.

There are tons more of new makan place( 3 little pigs and Big Bad Wolf at Bangsar Village, Burger Joint,Nosh, there is this another one the same row as pelita ,looks like fine dining to me, little Wonton(few doors away from dip n dip) and etc

Well I guess thats for next time.Sorry for the pictureless post.
Anyway,if

you are thinking of something cheap go to Pelita for sup kambing or Sin Lai Ping at Lucky Garden for really good chinese food at a cheap price.

Till then,have a great weekday!
